). This symbol will appear beside people's names in the index and in their 'individual' page, and indicates the person is known to have served in a military force. Eventually, clicking on this symbol will take you to a page with details of the person's military service.

) indicates the person is known to be the end of the line. The second () indicates that I have no more information about the person and don't know if the line continues or not. Clicking on either of these symbols will take you to the person's parent's 'individual' page.
